The Stone Mountain Action Coalition (SMAC) is an advocacy network of concerned citizens, political leaders, community organizations, faith-based groups, and businesses who are dedicated to supporting constructive solutions for a new, inclusive, and appropriate vision for Stone Mountain Park.

On Tuesday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m. SMAC will hold a “Prayer For Our Park” gathering at Stone Mountain Park to bring together a diverse group of faith leaders and members of the community for a moment of healing, peace and unity. As the Park continues to serve as a rally point for hate groups and violence, SMAC believes it is more important than ever to demonstrate the desperate need for peace and the extraordinary opportunity it has to serve a place of unity.

The event will take place at the Flag Terrace at the base of the Mountain Trail (parking available at Walk Up Trail Lot). All members of the community are encouraged to attend and stay for the Stone Mountain Memorial Association’s public board meeting following the event at 1:00 p.m. at the Park’s Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort (Rhododendron Meeting Room). As noted in SMAC’s recent announcement, the board will discuss and potentially vote on historic changes to the Park to make it a more inclusive, safer and welcoming place for all.

UPDATE (9/30/20): The Stone Mountain Memorial Association has cancelled their 1:00 p.m. board meeting.
