On Tuesday, October 6 at 11:00 a.m. SMAC will hold a “Prayer For Our Park” event at Stone Mountain Park to bring together a diverse group of faith leaders and members of the community for a moment of healing, peace and unity.
As the Park continues to serve as a rally point for hate groups and violence, SMAC believes it is more important than ever to demonstrate the desperate need for peace and the extraordinary opportunity it has to serve a place of unity.
The event will take place at the Flag Terrace at the base of the Mountain Trail (parking available at Walk Up Trail Lot).
This is not a rally, protest or political event. Signs are discouraged.
Update: The Stone Mountain Memorial Association cancelled their public board meeting that had been scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on October 6.
